Golf is a popular sport that can be played by people regardless their age. This sport is really popular in United States, Scotland, New Zealand and Australia.
There is something new in the world of golf clubs: hybrid golf clubs. Sometimes, hybrid clubs are referred as utility golf clubs. These clubs are designed to be easier to hit for the golfers, especially for recreational golfers. The term “hybrid golf club” denotes the golf clubs that combine irons and woods into an attractive new design to decrease the effect of mishit.
Many designs are made to replace long irons (especially the 4th iron) in the bag with new ones, especially made to give the golfers the chance to improve their game. Hybrids have taken ideas from iron and wood design; the result is a combination with useful features, such as the flatness of the face, weight distributed through the hybrid, and a length similar to an iron, unlike the wood. Hybrids still have problems, such as not giving the possibility to make a complete shoulder turn, hardness to hit lower lofted clubs, and hardness to swing. The face of a hybrid is made of 17-4 stainless steel, to help the ball compression.
Hybrids allow getting the ball upper and higher easily for recreational players. Professionals are using hybrids as well. Unlike the clubs designed only for certain skills, utility clubs are suited for touring professionals as well as for recreational players. There are no rules and specifications for hybrids’ design yet, and the players must be careful when they go to buy a new set.
